Couscous can never go wrong. It is delicious and packed with nourishment. So, if you don’t want to go with your usual fatty egg breakfast, this is the recipe that you should try. It is healthy and tastes great, and the best part is that it is guilt-free.
Ingredients
- 30 g shelled unsalted pistachios
- 30 g raisins
- 30 g pine nuts
- 30 g flaked almonds
- 2-4 tablespoons icing sugar
- 2-3 pinches of ground cinnamon
- 200 ml skimmed milk
- 200 g couscous
- 1 teaspoon rose water, optional
- 1 orange, optional
Preparation
- Add 500 ml boiling water in a large bowl and add couscous to the bowl.
- Let the couscous prepare for 10 minutes in the water and fluff it up using a fork.
- Now add the raisins in a bowl with lukewarm water and set aside for 15 minutes or until the raisins have softened.
- Drain and separate the raisins.
- Place a pan over medium heat and add the almonds and pine nuts.
- Stir for 2-3 minutes or until the nuts turn golden.
- Now chop the pistachios and add it to the couscous along with the raisins.
- Combine almonds, cinnamon, pine nuts, rose water, and sugar in the couscous.
- Garnish with orange zest and enjoy the couscous with milk.
