This dish is a spin on the traditional apple pie, as you slow cook it to perfection and serve it warm with a side of ice cream.
If apple pie is your favorite dessert to eat, this will become your new favorite. Make this recipe and serve it at parties to wow your guests.
Ingredients
Servings: 8 – 10
- 3 cups of apples (cored, diced, and peeled)
- 10 slices of bread (cubed)
- 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp of salt
- 3/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of butter (melted)
Preparation
Total prep time: 20 minutes
Total cook time: 3 hours
- Place apples into the slow cooker’s crock.
- In a bowl, place breadcrumbs, nutmeg, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, and toss together.
- Place the mixture over the apples and pour melted butter.
- Cover the slow cooker and allow it to cook on low for about 3 hours.
- Serve hot with vanilla ice cream.
The recipe directions do not make sense – do you pour the butter/rum mixture over the bananas while in the crockpot at some point? Also, would love to see the other recipes, but where do you click, I keep ending up on ads?
