Ingredients

Servings: 8 – 10

  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of white sugar
  • 1 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp of ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • 6 cups of apples (cored, chopped, and peeled)
  • 2 tbsp of lemon juice

Preparation

Total prep time: 20 minutes

Total cook time: 2 – 4 hours

  1. Combine brown sugar, flour, 1/2 cup of white sugar, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  2. Pour in butter in the mixture and add lemon juice. Mix it well.
  3. Garnish it with crumbled walnuts.
  4. Cover the slow cooker and cook it on high for about 2 hours or low for about 4 hours.
  5. Uncover the slow cooker partially for about 1 hour to allow the topping to harden.
  6. Serve warm.
