If you like your pizzas with olives, onions, and loads of pepperoni, for you, this recipe will definitely be a winner.

Parents looking to cook a healthier version of their child’s favorite fast food can omit olives from the recipe. Instead of pepperoni, you can add chicken, sausage, or all three.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of whole-wheat refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 tbsp of cornmeal (yellow)
  • 1/2 cup of marinara sauce (lower-sodium)
  • 1/2 cup of sweet onion (sliced thinly)
  • 10 niçoise olives (pitted and halved laterally)
  • 18 slices of pepperoni slices
  • 3/4 cup of Italian 4-cheese blend (shredded and low fat)

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Use cooking spray to coat the bowl, place the dough into it, cover it, and let it stand for about 15 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle cornmeal on the baking sheet.
  4. Roll out the dough into a circle (12-inch) on a baking sheet.
  5. Evenly spread the sauce over the dough, leaving a border of 1/2-inch.
  6. Include pepperoni, onion, and olives.
  7. Sprinkle cheese over the dough.
  8. Bake the pizza on the oven’s lowest rack at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for about 17 minutes.
