These avocado pita pizzas boast a tasty yet healthy combination of fresh cilantro, smooth avocado, and roasted chicken. Avocado is packed with antioxidants, and the chicken has enough protein to get you through a demanding day. Prep time is minimal, making these pita pizzas perfect for hectic evenings filled with soccer games or choir rehearsals.



  • 2 pita pockets, preferably whole wheat
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1/2 medium avocado, chopped
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar or pepperjack cheese
  • ¼ peeled cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 chicken breast, cooked and shredded

Avocado and Cilantro Sauce:

  • 1 6-oz container of plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 medium avocado
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp. lime juice
  • 1/2 tbsp. olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, if desired


  1. Mix the ingredients for the avocado and cilantro sauce in a blender and set aside.
  2. Generously coat the bottom of each piece of pita bread with the sauce.
  3. Top with lettuce, shredded chicken, chopped avocado, diced cucumber, diced tomato, and shredded cheese.
  4. Drizzle additional sauce on top of each avocado pita pizza and serve.
