Have you heard of ginger cookies that stay soft? If you haven’t, you have now. These ginger cookies keep their soft texture.
Make ginger cookies for your children to snack on.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp of ground ginger
- 1 tsp of baking soda
- 3/4 tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp of ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 3/4 cup of softened margarine
- 1 cup of white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp of water
- 1/4 cup of molasses
- 2 tbsp of white sugar
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Sift ginger, baking soda, flour, salt, cloves, and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Combine sugar (1 cup) and margarine in a bowl.
- Add in the eggs, followed by molasses and water.
- Add the sifted ingredients into the eggs mixture.
- Make balls the size of walnuts and roll them in sugar.
- Place the cookies on a cookies sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Let them cool for 5 minutes before serving.

This recipe is very confusing. It says 1 1/4 cups of sugar in list of ingredients, then tells you to put granulated sugar in with flour. Next sentence you are mixing granulated sugar (1 cup) with butter. Then later it says use rest of granulated sugar with cinnamon, what rest of granulated sugar? These cookies better be edible after wasting all of these ingredients!!!
