The best part about this ice cream is that it is made using just a couple of ingredients. So, if you feel like having some ice cream without gaining extra pounds, this is the recipe you should try.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup cacao or cocoa powder
  • ½ cup hazelnuts
  • ⅔ cup chopped vegan dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 12 dates, pitted
  • 2 cans of almond milk

Preparation

  1. Add the dates and almond milk into a food processor and blend it on high.
  2. Now add cacao powder and vanilla extract into the processor and blend.
  3. Once smooth, pour the mixture out in a bowl, and place it in the refrigerator to freeze.
  4. Now preheat the oven to 400 degree F and place hazelnuts on a baking sheet.
  5. Place the baking tray into the oven and roast for 10 to 15 minutes.
  6. Once the hazelnuts are fragrant and golden from the center, pull them out of the oven.
  7. Let the hazelnuts cool and chop them.
  8. When your ice cream base is chilled properly, add it to the blender and blend until smooth.
  9. Now pour the fluffy ice cream mixture into a freezer-friendly bowl and fold in the hazelnuts and dark chocolate.
  10. Place the bowl in the freezer.
  11. When ready to serve, top the ice cream with more hazelnuts and chocolate shavings.
