Ingredients

  • 10-inch wooden flat skewers
  • 3 slices of white bread (torn into small pieces)
  • 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef
  • 1/2 cup of yellow onion (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup of parsley leaves (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup of cilantro leaves (chopped)
  • 1 1/2 tsp of salt (kosher)
  • 1 tsp of ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp of ground all spice
  • 1/2 tsp of ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp of ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp of ground red pepper
  • Cooking spray
  • 8 warmed pita rounds

Preparation

  1. In a tub of water, soak the skewers for 30 minutes.
  2. Place the water and bread in a bowl, cover it, and let it stand for about 10 minutes.
  3. Use your hands to squeeze extra water from the bread, add them into a bowl, add the beef, and the ingredients after it.
  4. Use cooking spray to coat the grill, preheated to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. Divide the beef mixture into 8 parts and allow it to cool for 10 minutes in the fridge.
  6. Place them onto a skewer, making a 4-inch oval shape.
  7. Cook each side for 8 minutes.
  8. Serve with your favorite sauce.
