Ingredients
- 10-inch wooden flat skewers
- 3 slices of white bread (torn into small pieces)
- 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef
- 1/2 cup of yellow onion (chopped)
- 1/4 cup of parsley leaves (chopped)
- 1/4 cup of cilantro leaves (chopped)
- 1 1/2 tsp of salt (kosher)
- 1 tsp of ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp of ground all spice
- 1/2 tsp of ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp of ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp of ground red pepper
- Cooking spray
- 8 warmed pita rounds
Preparation
- In a tub of water, soak the skewers for 30 minutes.
- Place the water and bread in a bowl, cover it, and let it stand for about 10 minutes.
- Use your hands to squeeze extra water from the bread, add them into a bowl, add the beef, and the ingredients after it.
- Use cooking spray to coat the grill, preheated to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Divide the beef mixture into 8 parts and allow it to cool for 10 minutes in the fridge.
- Place them onto a skewer, making a 4-inch oval shape.
- Cook each side for 8 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite sauce.
