The next time you decide to cook rice at home and are stuck thinking what sauce to combine with it; think of this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. of minced ground beef
  • 3 celery stalks (chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/3 cup of dry sherry
  • 1/3 cup of beef stock
  • 1/2 cup of cooked white rice
  • 1 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 tbsp of ginger (minced)
  • 1 tbsp of cornstarch combined with 2 tbsp of water
  • 1 red pepper (chopped)
  • 1 onion

Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a skillet placed over medium-high heat.
  2. Add celery, pepper, onion, and stir-fry for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add ginger, garlic, and stir-fry for 1 minute.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a plate.
  5. Sauté the beef in the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks.
  6. Add the vegetables, stock, soy sauce, and sherry into the skillet.
  7. Cover the pan and decrease heat, allowing it to simmer for about 5 minutes.
  8. Increase the heat and add cornstarch, stirring often.
  9. Pour the sauce over boiled rice and serve.
