This stew hails from Ireland, as it involves beer and loads of beef.

If you have Irish roots, you should cook this dish for yourself and your family over the weekend. It will a good change from what the usual stew you cook and eat.

Ingredients

  1. A bottle of Irish stout beer
  2. 6 minced garlic cloves
  3. 4 cups of carrot (sliced)
  4. 2 tsp of vegetable oil
  5. 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour
  6. 2 potatoes (peeled and diced)
  7. 2 cups of mushrooms (sliced)
  8. 2 cups of beef broth 1
  9. 1/4 cup of parsley (chopped)
  10. 1 tbsp of cornstarch
  11. 1 tbsp of cold water
  12. 1 onion (chopped)
  13. 1 lb. beef stew meat (lean)
  14. 1 can of tomato paste

Preparation

  1. Add oil in a pot and place it over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, add flour and place the cubed beef into it to coat it thoroughly.
  3. Fry the beef and add remove them from the pot.
  4. Include mushrooms, garlic, and onion into the pot and cook for 3 minutes, stirring often.
  5. Place the beef back into the pot, add beef broth, tomato paste, and beer, and stir to combine.
  6. Include the carrots and potatoes, cover it, and cook for an hour on low heat.
  7. Combine water with cornstarch and pour into the pot.
  8. Garnish it with parsley and serve.
