Craving for a juicy steak for family dinner? This perfect, saucy steak served with colorful veggies on the side can be prepared at home. Just follow the recipe and create this low-fat version of saucy pepper steak and surprise everyone at home.
Ingredients
- 1 green pepper, julienned
- 1 red pepper, julienned
- 1 yellow pepper, julienned
- 1 boneless beef steak (trimmed)
- 1 small-sized onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Soy sauce, 3 tbsp
- Black pepper, ½ tsp
- Salt, to taste
- Barbecue sauce, ½ cup
- Vegetable mix (sautéed), 2 cups for serving
- Chives (chopped), for topping
- Cooking spray.
Preparation
- Grease a large pan with cooking spray and add peppers and onion. Sauté on med-high heat for 6-8 minutes. When veggies are tender and crisp, transfer to a bowl. Cover and set aside.
- Add meat, black pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Cook for 3 minutes and stir occasionally. Cook until meat is browned from all sides. Stir in barbecue sauce and soy sauce. Mix well and continue cooking for 2 minutes. Remove steak and place it on a preheated grill pan.
- Cook for remaining doneness on both sides and transfer to a platter.
- Place sautéed veggies on the side.
- Sprinkle chives on top of the steak and warm for best flavors.
