Ingredients

  • Flank steaks (boneless), 6 servings
  • Vegetable oil, ½ cup
  • Lime zest (grated), 1 tsp
  • Lemon zest (grated), 1 tsp
  • Asian fish sauce, 2 tbsp
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • Asian chile sauce, 2 tbsp
  • Cilantro leaves, ¼ cup
  • Basil leaves, ¼ cup
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable mix (sautéed), 1 cup for serving

Preparation

  1. Add cilantro, basil, fish sauce, garlic and chili sauce in a food processor. Pulse until chopped and well incorporated. Add lime and lemon zest along with the oil and pulse again to mix well.
  2. Use this marinade to apply on the steaks. Season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to up to 24 hours.
  3. To prepare, light a grill and grease with some oil. Place the marinated steaks over med-high heat and cook for 8 minutes on a side before flipping it. The time could vary depending on your desired doneness. When done, transfer to a platter.
  4. Cover with foil and let sit for 5 minutes. Serve warm and juicy with sautéed veggies on the side.
