There is nothing more delicious and healthier than poached salmon, especially when it is cooked over a bed of veggies. This poached salmon recipe is enjoyed by many Americans and is the got- option when it comes to eating healthy.
Ingredients
- Several sprigs of fresh dill or sprinkle of dried dill
- Salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- A sprig of fresh parsley
- 1 shallot, peeled and thinly sliced
- A few slices of fresh lemon to serve
- 1 to 1½ pounds salmon fillets, (the pin bones from these fillets need to be removed)
- a few thin slices of onion
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup dry white wine
Preparation
- Sprinkle some salt over salmon fillets.
- Now add the parsley, shallots, onions, wine, dill, and water in a sauté pan and cook over medium heat.
- Once it starts to simmer place salmon skin side down into the pan and cover the lid.
- Cook salmon for 10 minutes or until it’s cooked to your requirements.
- Do not overcook salmon as it will get dry.
- Place on a flat plate and garnish with salt and pepper, and lemon slices.
