This exotic main course from the southeast is going to take you by a storm. The best part about it is though you can eat it with a fork, spread it on bread, or even enjoy with boiled rice. You can adjust the spice according to your own taste. Here is how you can make potato bhujia.

Ingredients

  • Potato, ½ kg
  • Chicken stalk cubes, 1
  • Small onion (chopped), 1
  • Garlic clove (crushed), 1
  • Oil, 3 tbsp
  • Red chili flakes, 2 tsp
  • Salt, to taste
  • Turmeric powder, 1 tsp
  • Green chili (chopped), 1
  • Corrainder, for garnish

Preparation

  1. In a sauce pan, place all the potatoes and fill it up with water.
  2. Add some salt and boil till the potatoes get soft. Take off heat, let cool and then peel. Pat dry.
  3. Roughly mash all the potatoes with a fork and set aside.
  4. In another pan, add the oil, onions and garlic.
  5. As soon as the onion turns slightly golden, add the mashed potatoes and cook on medium low speed.
  6. Then add in salt, chili flakes and turmeric. Also add the greed chili. Mix well, lower the heat and cover.
  7. Let cook for 15 minutes or as long as it takes for the oil to start glistening on top of the potatoes.
  8. Serve with naan bread or boiled rice!
