When you are having a dinner party, you want to make the best dishes and the ones that can be cooked without too much hassle. This sausage meatballs and spaghetti recipe is perfect for any party at all and doesn’t require you to make meatballs separately.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds sweet or spicy Italian sausage
- Coarse salt and ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced small
- 2 cans whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 pound spaghetti
Preparation
- Put water on boil in a large pot and add salt.
- Roll the sausage meat into small balls.
- Now, heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Place the sausage balls into the pan and cook until they turn golden brown in color.
- Transfer the sausage balls to a plate and add onion to pan.
- Let the onion cook until softened and golden, and add tomatoes into the pan.
- Add salt and pepper in the pan and let the mixture boil.
- Now add paste to the pot with salted water and cook following the package instructions.
- Add meatballs to the pan with the sauce and let it simmer until the mixture has thickened.
- Once the paste is cooked, drain and add with the meatballs and sauce.
