When the creaminess of mustard combines with the aromatic taste of basil, you get a burst of taste which is exactly what this sausage, basil, and mustard pasta recipe is all about.               This incredible pasta will leave your guests licking their bowls.

Ingredients

  • Pinch of crushed red pepper
  • 8 hot sausages, crumbled
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup dry white wine
  • 3 tablespoons grainy mustard
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 pound penne or medium shells
  • basil (thinly sliced, 1 cup)

Preparation

  1. Add water in a large pot and cook pasta following the package instructions and drain.
  2. Put the olive oil in a large skillet, heat it, and add sausage meat.
  3. Let the meat get a beautiful brown color and add wine to the skillet.
  4. When the wine is reduced, add the mustard, cream, and red pepper, and simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and add cooked pasta and basil into it.
  6. Toss and coat, and serve.
