Avocado-Lime Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 medium avocado, pitted, and diced
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chopped shallot
  • 2 limes, halved
  • 2 tbsps chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro leaves
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

  1. DO AHEAD: Sauce can be made up to 4 days ahead. Press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto surface of sauce. Cover and refrigerate. Bring sauce to room temperature before serving.
  2. Combine oil, avocado, jalapeño, garlic, and shallot. Squeeze limes into mixture.
  3. Stir in basil and cilantro just before serving
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
