Omega-3, vitamin D, vitamin B12, protein…there are so many reasons to love salmon. Even if you aren’t into fish, you might still enjoy a smoked salmon pizza.
Begin with a frozen pizza. You can use a plain crust without any toppings, or you can use a frozen cheese pizza. If possible, use a frozen pizza that has olive oil rather than tomato sauce. Both taste fine with smoked salmon, but the olive oil pairs better with the rich flavor of this heart-healthy fish.
Prepare pizza or frozen crust as usual, and let it cool for approximately 10 minutes. If you decide to use a plain crust, drizzle it with olive oil prior to baking.
Add any combination of the following ingredients to make smoked salmon pizza:
- Thin strips of cold smoked salmon
- Creme fraiche
- Arugula
- Capers
- Red onion
- Lemon juice (use sparingly)
