Ingredients
- Sugar for sprinkling
- Store-bought pie dough
- Egg wash to brush the crust
- 2 tbsp of sugar (granulated)
- 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 pounds of Granny Smith apples (peeled and sliced thinly)
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1/4 cup of raspberry jam
- 1 tsp of pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup of raspberries (frozen or fresh)
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit
- Roll out the store bought dough into a circle (13-inch)
- Place the dough in a pie plate (9-inch) and trim 1-inch from the sides
- Combine jam, sugar, flour, salt, and vanilla
- Add raspberries and apples and toss to coat
- Place the pie plate in the freezer for 15 minutes
- In a 12-inch circle, roll out the dough and throw away trimmings
- Intertwine stripes into a lattice pattern over apples and raspberries
- Fold the overhand on top of the edges of the pattern and tuck to seal
- Bake for about 75 minutes on a baking sheet and let it cool on a rack for 4 hours
