  • 2 cups of sugar (sifted confectioners’)
  • 1 tablespoon of milk (more can be added if required)
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons of strong and brewed coffee
  • 3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup of butter
  • 2 lightly beaten eggs
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of instant espresso powder
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/3 cup of cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1 cup of butter


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease a jelly roll pan of 10×15 inches.
  2. Melt a cup of butter using medium heat in a saucepan. Whisk together water, espresso powder, and 1/3 cup of cocoa powder until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Combine together baking soda, 1 ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, flour, brown sugar, and white sugar inside a mixing bowl. Pour vanilla extract, eggs, ½ cup of milk, and the butter cocoa mixture. Mix this thoroughly. Pour this batter into the baking sheet that you prepared.
  4. Bake this in the preheated oven until the cake is springy.
  5. For the icing, take a saucepan or use the microwave to melt ¼ cup of butter. Transfer this melted butter in a mixing bowl. Whisk together coffee, 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon of milk, and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon. In a slow manner, mix the sifted confectioner’s sugar and then beat this until it becomes smooth. Add milk according to your requirement so that the consistency that you like is reached. Spread icing on the cooled cake.
