2) Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat (2 of 5)

The recipe can be made using pork, venison, beef, and chicken. It will freeze well and can be turned into tacos, burritos, or other types of Mexican dishes. The dish will make use of spice which can be adjusted according to your taste and liking.

  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 bottle of hot pepper sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1 ¼ cups of diced green chile pepper
  • 1 large and chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 beef pot roast

  1. Get rid of excess fat from the roast and season it with pepper and salt. Take olive oil and heat it in a skillet using medium to high heat. Put this beef in the skillet and brown it on all the sides.
  2. Transfer this to a slow cooker and top with chopped up onion. Season this with chile peppers, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, hot pepper sauce, and chili powder. Add sufficient water so that 1/3 roast can be covered.
  3. Cover this and cook on high heat for about 6 hours. Keep checking to make sure small liquid amounts remain at the cooker bottom. Reduce heat and continue to cook on low heat for the next two to four hours. The meat should become tender, falling apart.
  4. Transfer roast in a bowl and shred it using forks. Serve this in burritos or tacos.
