Baking needs precision and when it comes to slicing those soft brownies, you must take care. Cutting brownies into thin slices is a difficult task. In a bid to cut perfect squares and rectangles, most people end up breaking their brownies into small pieces. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you cut your brownies in perfect squares without the additional mess:

  • In order to cut brownies perfectly, you need to prepare from the start.
  • With the help of a pastry brush, cover the bottom and sides of your baking tray with softened butter.
  • Now line the tray with parchment paper that overhands on two sides. Press down the paper so that it sticks to the butter.
  • Brush more butter on the parchment paper and line it with another strip perpendicular to the first layer of parchment. This second strip of paper should also overhang from the tray.
  • Add the brownie mixture to the tray and bake. Once done, let the brownies cool.
  • Now get hold of the overhanging paper to lift the brownies out of the pan. Transfer the brownies onto a cutting board.
  • Take a large knife and cut the brownies into desired shape.
  • Remove the parchment paper.
