Ingredients

For the Brownies:

  • 50 g plain flour
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 180 g dark chocolate, broken into squares
  • 150 g unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
  • 120 g caster sugar
  • 1 Snickers bar or similar confectionery
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

For the Sauce:

  • 25 g butter
  • 140 ml double cream
  • 140 g dark chocolate, broken into squares
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 355 degrees F.
  • Grease a round baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Place a heatproof bowl over a saucepan with boiling water and melt the chocolate.
  • Once the chocolate has melted, add in the sugar and the butter, and stir to combine. Set aside to cool.
  • When the chocolate has slightly cooled, add in the beaten eggs and combine.
  • Add flour in a separate bowl with the baking powder and strain. Now gently add this mixture into the chocolate mixture.
  • Crush the snickers bar into small pieces and add into the brownie mixture. Pour this mixture into the sheet lined pan and place in the oven.
  • Bake it for 15 to 20 minutes or until it is firm.
  • Plate out and let the brownies cool onto a wire rack.
  • Now for the sauce, heat all the sauce ingredients in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan with boiling water.
  • Cut the brownies and pour the sauce on the side and serve with vanilla ice cream.
