Macaroni and Cheese with Three Cheeses(1 of 5)



  • Salt
  • 5 cups of extra-sharp cheddar (shredded)
  • 4 cups of full-fat milk
  • 3 cups of yellow American cheese (shredded)
  • 3 cups of gouda (shredded)
  • 2 lbs. of elbow macaroni
  • 2 1/2 sticks of butter (unsalted)
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp of seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of mustard powder
  • 1/2 tbsp of smoked paprika
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour


  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Place a pot of water, containing salt, to boil
  3. Place the macaroni into boiling water, cooking it for about 9 minutes, and drain
  4. Melt two sticks of butters in a 4 qt. pot, placed over low heat
  5. Add flour, seasoned salt, black pepper, salt, and mustard powder into the pot, cooking for about 2 minutes, stirring frequently with a whisk
  6. Gradually add milk, whisking and cooking it, until it thickens for about 8 minutes
  7. Take out the pot from the heat and add in gouda and American cheeses followed by four cups of cheddar cheese, until melted and well combined
  8. Add the macaroni, mix, and pour the entire mixture into a 3 qt backing dish and glaze with the rest of 1/2 stick of butter
  9. Garnish it with 1 cup of Cheddar cheese, sprinkle with smoked paprika
  10. Bake the dish for about 30 minutes
  11. Serve immediately
