Cinnamon Buns With Crunchy Almonds(4 of 6)

Ingredients
- Slivered almonds, 1 cup
- Almond paste, ½ cup
- Light brown sugar, 6 tbsp
- Ground cinnamon, 2 tsp
- Crescent rolls (unbaked), 2 pkg.
- Butter, 1 stick
- Cooking spray
- Confectioners’ sugar, 1 cup
- Whole milk, 1 tbsp
Preparation
- Set the oven to preheat at 375 degrees F.
- In a mixing bowl, stir in almond paste, almonds, cinnamon and brown sugar. Stir well to combine and set aside.
- Place 1 package of roll dough on a parchment sheet. Roll to a smooth, rectangular seams. Spread ½ of the butter over the tough and spoon half of the almond mixture. Starting from one end, roll up the dough tightly. Cut into 6 equal pieces and repeat with the other dough roll.
- Grease 2 muffin tins with cooking spray. Place the cinnamon in each and set to bake for 15 minutes until golden brown. You might want to give it the perfect cinnamon roll shape. If you want, go ahead and do it and bake on a baking sheet.
- While the buns are in the oven, prepare the glaze. Combine milk and confectioners’ sugar in a bowl and whisk until smooth. When the buns are ready, remove from oven and drizzle with the glaze.
- Serve immediately for warm, melting flavors.
