Kids like nothing more than colorful food. How about you surprise them with rainbow sprinkle cookies? You can even get them to help you out when baking them. Here is how you can wow your little ones today with these yummy and pretty looking cookies!

Ingredients

  • Flour, 3 cups
  • Sugar, 1 cup
  • Egg, 1
  • Softened unsalted butter, 226 grams or 2 sticks
  • Vanilla extract, 2 tsp
  • Salt, a pinch
  • Sprinkles, as much as preferred

Preparation

  1. Start by heating the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a bowl, add the butter and sugar. Beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Then add in vanilla extract and egg. Beat for 3 more minutes.
  3. Fold in flour and salt and then beat for another minute, so that it is well combined.
  4. Take a spoon of the cookie dough and roll in 1 inch balls.
  5. Spread sprinkles on a plate and roll the cookie dough balls in it.
  6. Line the baking tray with parchment sheet, place cookie on the tray and press slightly. Make sure all the cookies are 2 inches apart as they will expand when baking.
  7. Put in the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until light golden.
  8. Take the baking tray out of the oven and allow the cookies to cool a little. Then take them out and spread on a wire rack so that they can cool completely. Serve with cold milk!
