Ingredients
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups of white sugar (divided)
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 6 tbsp of butter (cold)
- 1/4 cup of hot water
- 2 tbsp of cornstarch
- 1/4 cup of cold water
- 1 tbsp of lemon juice
- 4 cups blackberries (rinsed and drained)
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Use aluminum foil to line a baking sheet.
- Combine 1/2 cup of sugar, flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
- Place the butter in the mixture and stir to crumble it.
- Add in 1/4 cup of hot water to make the mixture moist.
- In another bowl, add cornstarch and water to dissolve it.
- Add in the rest of the sugar, blackberries, and lemon juice.
- Transfer everything to an iron skillet, bring to a boil, and stir.
- Drop the dough balls into the skillet, place the skillet on the baking sheet, and bake for about 25 minutes.
