Pancakes might not be counted as a dessert, but this Cranberry Clafouti sure can. This dessert is like a pancake mixture on a plate and topped with delicious fruits and creamy custard. If you don’t want to bake a massive cake for the dinner, try out this yummy dessert which is quite easy to make.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups fresh or thawed frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, room temperature, for dish
- Pinch of salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup chilled heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons finely grated orange zest
- Confectioners’ sugar, for garnish
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Take a 1-quart baking dish and butter it with the help of a pastry brush.
- Now spread 2 tablespoons granulated sugar over the baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix together salt, flour, and ½ cup granulated sugar.
- Gradually stir in eggs, milk, zest, and ¾ cup cream.
- Spread cranberries into the baking dish and add the mixture on top.
- Place the dish in over and bake until it is properly puffed and brown around edges.
- Once cooked, place the dish on a wire rack for 15 minutes.
- Now whisk ¼ cup cream until soft.
- Dust clafouti on top using confectioners’ sugar.
- Serve to the guests with whipped cream.
