Although the backbone and ribs have been taken out of the salmon you get from the market, there are still tiny bones that are left inside the meat. These soft bones can cause quite a lot of trouble, but getting them out is not as difficult.

  • You will need to use your index finger to run it along the center of the fillet, going against the direction of the grain. Doing so helps locate soft bones quite easily.
  • Now take tweezers and catch a hold of these bones and tightly pull them out of the fillet. Make sure you make such an angle to pull out the bones that they do not break.
