Nothing could beat the craving of beef other than a cheesy beef cheeseburger. But why order when you can make a fantastic one at home. You can enjoy the burger or serve the beef patty with mushroom sauce on the top as a steak – choice is yours.
Ingredients
Beef Burger
- Ground beef chuck (80% lean), 1 ½ lbs
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- ½ large-sized tomato, slices
- Lettuce leaves, 2 crispy leaves
- Cheddar cheese, 8 slices
- 4 sesame buns, split
Mushroom Sauce
- Butter, 1 tsp
- Button mushrooms (sliced), 1 cup
- Fresh cream, 1 cup
- Salt, 1 tsp
- Freshly ground black pepper, 1 ½ tsp
- Garlic, 2 cloves (crushed)
Preparation
- Place ground beef in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper and mix well. Divide the meat evenly and form 4 balls and shape them into patties. The patties should not be more than 1 inch thick.
- Preheat a grill to high heat setting. Grill beef patties for 3-5 minutes on each side until it reaches your desirable level of doneness. Flip and cook on the other side too.
- Meanwhile, prepare the mushroom sauce. Heat butter in a saucepan over med heat. Add mushrooms and continue to fry until browned. Add cream and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a gentle boil. Stir occasionally and cook for 5 minutes making sure the cream does not over boil. Once the sauce is half, add garlic and stir well. Cook for another minute and your mushroom sauce is ready.
- When the patties are ready too, place on the buns. Top with 2 slices of cheddar cheese, 1 tbsp of mushroom sauce each, lettuce leaves and tomatoes. Cover with the bun and serve.
Note: If the burger seems too much, ladle mushroom sauce over the beef steaks and serve without buns.
