  1. 1 cup of sharp white Cheddar (coarsely grated)
  2. 1 egg white (beaten)
  3. 1 tbsp of all-purpose flour
  4. 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
  5. 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg
  6. 1/4 tsp of salt
  7. 2 9-inch-diameter (unroll and bake frozen pie crusts)
  8. 2 tbsp of butter (unsalted and sliced into 1/2-inch bits)
  9. 2/3 cup of dark brown sugar
  10. 5 Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored, and quartered)
  11. Butter to grease the pan


  1. Place the oven rack on the bottom of the oven and preheat it to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Brush the sides and the bottom of 9-inch pie dish with butter
  3. Slice the apple into 3 wedges
  4. Combine cheese, apples, butter, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, and salt in a bowl
  5. Place one unrolled pie crust into the dish and coat the inside of the pie crust with egg white
  6. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust
  7. Place the second unrolled dough to cover the filling
  8. Pinch the top and edge of the crust to seal them together
  9. Fold the edge under and tuck
  10. Use egg white to brush the pie crust and make slits
  11. Bake the dish for an hour
  12. Allow it cool for 25 minutes before serving
