Ingredients

  1. Store-bought pie shell (unbaked)
  2. Salt
  3. One can of pumpkin puree
  4. One can of evaporated milk
  5. 2 tbsp of butter (unsalted)
  6. 2 Gala apples (sliced into 1/2-inch pieces)
  7. 2 eggs
  8. 1/8 tsp of ground cloves
  9. 1/4 cup of dark brown sugar
  10. 1/2 tsp of ground ginger
  11. 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
  12. 1/2 cup of sugar (granulated)
  13. 1 tsp of ground nutmeg
  14. 1 McIntosh apple (sliced into 1/2-inch pieces)

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Place the rack in oven’s center
  3. Place a 9-inch pie plate with the dough, trim and fold the dough, and place it in the fridge
  4. Toss McIntosh, Gala apples, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, pinch of salt, and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg in melted butter in a skillet over medium heat
  5. Cook for 10 minutes, remove from heat, and put it aside
  6. Combine pumpkin puree, brown sugar, sugar, evaporated milk, pinch of salt, and eggs in a bowl
  7. Fill the pie plate with the apple mix, pour the pumpkin filling, and sprinkle 1/2 tsp of nutmeg
  8. Bake for an hour and 30 minutes
  9. Let it cool, cut the pie, and serve
