Biscuits and gravy is the breakfast favorite of most Southerners residing in the Southern part of the United States.

If you have gone in that direction, you have probably come across this Southern favorite in a restaurant’s menu.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups of milk
  • 1/4 cup of flour
  • 1 packet of pork sausage crumbles
  • 1 can of jumbo buttermilk biscuits
  • Black pepper and salt to taste

Preparation

  1. Follow the instructions on the packet to cook the biscuits.
  2. In skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat for about 6 minutes, stirring regularly.
  3. Add in flour and stir.
  4. Add in milk and stir.
  5. When the mixture comes to a boil, decrease the heat to medium-low to allow to simmer for about 2 minutes, stirring regularly.
  6. Season it with salt and black pepper.
  7. Slice the biscuits in half from the middle.
  8. Place the biscuits on a plate and serve with 1/3 cup of gravy.
