  • Spaghetti, 1 lb
  • Butter (unsalted), 2 tbsp
  • Garlic (minced), 3 cloves
  • 1 medium-sized onion, diced
  • Tomatoes (crushed), 1 can
  • Parsley (dried), ½ teaspoon
  • Basil (dried), 1 teaspoon
  • Oregano (dried), ½ teaspoon
  • Crushed red pepper flakes, ½ teaspoon
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Balsamic vinegar, 1 teaspoon
  • Milk, ¾ cup
  • Heavy cream, ¼ cup
  • Parmesan (grated), ¼ cup
  • Fresh parsley leaves (chopped), 2 tbsp


  1. Cook pasta following the directions on the package in salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large Dutch oven or stockpot, add butter and melt it over low-med heat. Add onion and garlic and cook for 3-4 minutes until fragrant and onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in tomatoes, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper as per your taste.
  4. Stir and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Adjust heat to low and continue to simmer for 20 minutes until the sauce has thickened. Add balsamic vinegar and stir to combine.
  5. To give the creamy touch, stir in heavy cream and milk and combine well. Cook for another 2 minutes until thoroughly heated.
  6. Place the spaghetti in a serving platter and top with the sauce.
  7. Garnish with parmesan and parsley and serve immediately.
